Chunam Park In-ho was born in 1855 in Deoksan, Chungcheong Province, as a poor peasant of middle status. In the Naepo area where he lived, most of the land was owned by the Yangban landlords in Seoul, so the life of the peasants was difficult, and Park In-ho could not escape it. Park In-ho, who had entered adolescence, was lost in the difficult world of the transition at the time, and entered Donghak in 1883. He agreed with Donghak’s philosophy of pursuing equality and creating a new world. Under the direct guidance of Choi Si-hyung, Park In-ho, who grew up to be a leader of Donghak in the Naepo region, participated in the Gyojosineon Movement(A Movement to Pardon the Founder’s Wrongful Death) in February 1893 as an appealer, and played a key role in the Boeun Gyojosineon Movement(A Movement to Pardon the Founder’s Wrongful Death) in March as a Dukeuidaejoebjoo. When the Donghak Peasant Revolution broke out in 1894, he led the Donghak Army in the Naepo area of Chungcheong Province to defeat the Japanese army at the Battle of Sungjeongok Valley after the September gun fire and won the victory of the Government Forces at the Battle of Sinryewon. However, after being defeated in the Battle of Hongju Castle, he fled and struggled to survive. The Donghak Army of Naepo ended with the defeat of the Battle of Haemi Castle by the Kwan’s army. Chunam Park In-ho was a representative Donghak leader in the Naepo region, and later served as the supreme leader of the Cheondo Church as the 4th Daedoju of Cheondogyo.
