The purpose of this paper is to clarify the nature and literary significance of love, considering that the essence of the work of 「Baekhakseonjeon」 is the narrative of love. Although the love narrative was pointed out in the previous discussion, it is not discussed intensively, so it is judged that it is okay to conduct research and proceed with the research. In this paper, it is confirmed that the narrative of love works as an element that supports the core of the work. It is revealed that the work is focused on the narrative of love by following the sequential narrative and seeks its literary significance. It is confirmed that the nature of affection is individualized in the love narrative of the work. The difference between male and female sex and gender also makes a difference in the degree of hardship and overcoming in finding an affectionate partner. The nature of affection changes and the work reflects the change of the times, and the work captures the change of the literary environment. As the novel is treated as something to read, this work mobilizes methods such as making the subject of affection a title or treating affection as a personal interest in order to sustain the public’s desire and interest.
