『금강경(金剛經)』과 『무체법경(無體法經)』에 나타난 무아(無我)와 공(空)의 문제
이 연구의 목적은 불교의 대표경전인 『금강경』과 의암 손병희의 『무체법경』에 나타난 무아와 공의 문제를 비교 분석하는 데 있다. 『금강경』은 사상(四相)을 버리고 변하지 않는 참된 지혜의 세계에 도달하는 방법을 제시하고 있으며, 『무체법경』은 수행을 통하여 자리심, 이타심, 공화심, 자유심, 극락심에 이르는 자천자각의 경지를 서술하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 양 경전을 무아와 공의 문제로 분석하고 그 원리와 방법을 비교하고자 하였다. 연구 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 『금강경』의 구조와 내용을 수보리의 질문과 그에 답변으로 정리하고 그 특징을 제시하였다. 둘째, 『무체법경』의 내용과 구성을 정리하고 그 성격이 무엇인지 논의하였다. 셋째, 양 경전에 나타난 무아와 공의 특징을 존재론적 측면, 인식론적 측면, 가치론적 측면에서 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 금강경은 수보리의 질문, ‘어떻게 머물고’, ‘어떻게 마음을 조복받아야 하는가’에 대한 대답으로 이루어져 있으며, 그 대답은 ‘머무는바 없이 마음을 내는 것’과 ‘무아법’이었다. 둘째, 『무체법경』의 핵심 내용을 성심과에서부터 진심불염까지 자천자각을 통한 인내천의 실현으로 제시하였다. 셋째, 두 경전의 공통된 원리로 언어의 모순성을 통한 무한과 유한의 변증법적 관계, 즉비시명과 불연기연의 인식론적 방법, 그리고 사랑의 가치를 제시하였다.
The Problems of Anatman and Sunyata as found in Diamond Sutra and Infiniteness Sutra
The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the problems of Anatman and Sunyata as found in Diamond Sutra , the main scripture of Buddhism, and Uiam Uiam Son Byeong- Hui’s Infiniteness Sutra . Diamond Sutra offers how we can reach the world of eternal true wisdom by discarding four notions, while Infiniteness Sutra describes the state of self-realization to be reached by cultivating ourselves through selfishness, altruism, communitarianism, freedom, and paradise. This study tries to analyze these two texts in terms of the problems of Anatman and Sunyata and compare their respective principles and methods. The contents of the study are as follows: First, it summarizes the structures and teachings of Diamond Sutra by Subori’s questions and the answers given to them and presents their characteristics. Second, it outlines the contents and forms of Infiniteness Sutra and discusses what are their characteristics. Third, it analyzes the characteristics of Anatman and Sunyata found in these two texts in terms of their ontological, epistemological, and axiological aspects. The results of the study are as follows: First, Diamond Sutra consists of answers to Subori’s questions about “how to stay” and “how to control the mind,” and those answers are “bringing to mind without staying” and “principle of self-negation.” Second, Infiniteness Sutra presents the substance of Innaecheon through self-realization from “the nature of mind” to “true mind not corrupted.” Third, it presents as the principles common to both texts the dialectic relationship between the finite and infinite arising out of the contradictions of lanuage, the epistemology of ‘Just-not but-named Speech’(卽非是名) and ‘Bulyeon-Giyeon’(不然其然) and the importance of love.
