The purpose of this study is to suggest a plan of applying and distributing Choe Je-u(崔濟愚)’s historical and literary contents to the space-type contents as a strategy for modern succession of the Donghak(東學) Spirit, which is Korea’s homegrown culture. These cultural contents are being associated with the realistic regional cultural industry without remaining in the content zone called culture. In relation to this, it is the point of time that is demanded a research available for uniting the process from understanding the whole fields of planning, production and distribution up to processing and creating into one. This study is discussed a meaning and a value of the historical record and the literary work relevant to Choe Je-u, and then is progressed the creation process of space-type contents placed in Daegu on the basis of this. The Yeongnam region is the cradle of ‘Donghak’ that is Korea’s homegrown culture. Among the rest, Daegu is especially a place where Choe Je-u(1824-1864) as the founder of Donghak was executed under the name of a crime dubbed Jwadonanjeong(左道亂政) in 1864. What Choe Je-u was arrested and executed at that time was recorded in 『Joseonwangjosilrok(朝鮮王朝實錄)』and 『Cheondogyo-changgeonsa(天道敎創建史)』. Also, Lee Gwang-su(李光秀) embodied Choe Je-u’s scene of the Daegu execution in 「The Holy Death」, which is a novel of being included in 『Gaebyeok(開闢)』. These three materials correspond to the background of Choe Je-u’s space-type content situated in Daegu. As a result of this study, Choe Je-u’s space-type content in Daegu was suggested. In other words, Choe Je-u’s space-type content in Daegu will need to be operated properly for each spatial function with being secured the acceptance space, the empathy space and the experience space. This study is expected to lead to being likely arranged a place of Daegu area that empathizes with the revolutionary spirit of Donghak in addition to a pride of Donghak, which is Korea’s homegrown culture.
