수운 최제우의 ‘次次次次’ 읽기 - 農的-植物的 대안 지성을 위한 한 시론 -
국이 논문은 수운 최제우의 ‘차차차차(次次次次)’를 농적(農的)-식물적 관점의 대안 지성을 위한 시론으로서 다시 읽어보려는 것이다. 농사나 농경이라는 것은 인류 문명 발전의 뒤에 있어 온 필수적인산업으로서 땅을 통해 사람에게 필요한 식물을 재배해 씨앗이나 열매와 뿌리 등의 부산물을 얻는 업종을 말한다. 따라서 농업의 기본은 ‘식물’에 대한 것이다. 이 논문에서는 식물에서 ‘식물성’을 추론하여 그 의미를 살려보고자 했다. 동학은 기본적으로 ‘농민’에 기반하며 농업을 근간으로 한다. 따라서동학에서 논의되는 개념들 또한 농업에 기반한 것이라 하겠다. 농업은‘차례로 이루어지는 법도(rule)’ 즉 ‘차제도법(次第道法)’에 따라 점차적으로 이루어진다. 이 점차적인 변화를 수운 최제우는 ‘차차차차(次次次 次)’로 표현했다. ‘차차차차’는 ‘무극대도(無極大道)’와 ‘무위이화(無爲而化)’를 증언하는언어이다. 아울러 차차차차는 ‘내재의 수학’인 ‘운수(運數)’를 말한다. 인간과 만물은 운수로서 세상에 증여된 하눌님이다. 이 논문에서는 이러한 논의를 바탕으로 차차차차를 ‘둘 혹은 여럿이면서 하나’인 삶과세계를 위한 대안적 사상으로서 재조명하였다. 종래의 연구에서는 이 문제에 대해서 주목하지 않았지만, ‘차차차차’ 읽기를 통해 동학의 숨은 지성적 가능성을 드러내 보이려는 것이다. “하루에 한송이 꽃이 피고 이틀에 두 송이 꽃이 피네”에서 “삼백 예순날이 되면 삼백 예순 송이가 피네”에 이르는 과정은 최제우 당시의 희망을 담은 글쓰기다. 그것은 논리가 아니라 아포리즘이고, 논문이 아니라 농적-식물적 사유를 대변하는 시문(詩文)이었다.
Reading Suun Choi Je-woo’s ‘Chachachacha’ : Preliminary Discussion for an AgriculturalVegetable Alternative Intellect
This paper aims to reread Suun Choi Je-woo’s ‘Chachachacha’ as a preliminary discussion for an alternative idea from an agricultural-plant perspective. Farming or agriculture is an essential industry that has been behind the development of human civilization. It refers to an industry that cultivates plants necessary for people through the land and obtains byproducts such as seeds, fruits, and roots. Therefore, the basis of agriculture is ‘plants.’ In this paper, I tried to infer ‘vegetability’ from plants and try to bring out its meaning. Donghak is fundamentally based on ‘farmers’ and is based on agriculture. Therefore, the concepts discussed in Donghak are also based on agriculture. Agriculture is gradually carried out according to the ‘rule of succession.’ Suun Choi Je-woo expressed this gradual change as ‘chachachacha.’ ‘Chachachacha’ is a language that testifies to the great ultimate principle that transcends extremes. In addition, Chachachacha refers to ‘the cosmic mathematics of the inner self.’ Humans and all things are the sky, Hnulnim that was given to the world as this mathematics of the inner universe. Based on this discussion, this paper reexamines Chachachacha as an alternative thought for life and the world that are ‘two or many but one.’ n previous studies, this issue was not given much attention. However, here, I tried to reveal the hidden intellectual potential of Donghak through reading ‘Chachachacha’. The process from “One flower blooms a day, two flowers bloom in two days” to “When three hundred and sixty days pass, three hundred and sixty flowers bloom” is a writing that contained the hopes of the society at the time of Choi Je-woo. It was not logic, but aphorism, and not a thesis, but poetry representing agriculturalplant thinking.
